The ACE Committee is offering an information session Wednesday, May 15, 9:30-10:00 a.m. The session will provide an introduction to how we recognize great work in the Advancement Community at UVA. ACE stands for "Advancement Community Excellence" and all members of the community are eligible to be recognized for exemplifying our one or more of our Pillars. It not only helps recognize and reward individual achievements but also aligns those achievements with our organizational goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development. Join us on May 15 for an important Managers’ Meeting focused on demystifying this essential process within UA. This session promises to be an enlightening opportunity to align our strategies and expectations. Matt Caesar, our HR business partner, will be available to address any questions, ensuring we all understand the procedures and policies in place. Additionally, we’ll gain valuable insights from one of our own leaders, Julie Featherstone, who will share UA’s philosophy on performance ratings and the art of setting achievable future goals. Advance Lab: Reporting

In this session you will get hands on practice generating commonly used Advance and Advancement Performance (Cognos) reports (data you can’t get from Tableau). Jordan Williams will lead the session and he will answer your reporting questions and review tips for exporting data so you can use it in your workflow.

Scenario Based Blended Giving Fundraiser Training

A significant percentage of wealth is held in retirement accounts! Learn how to open blended gift conversations that include tax-efficient gifts of retirement assets, including gifts of immediate impact and gifts that provide life income. Sponsored by the Major Gifts and Gift Planning Community of Practice, this interactive role-play training will give you a framework for practicing and planning successful donor conversations that take into consideration complex assets, tax benefits, and personal financial goals, resulting in larger and more impactful gifts. QCDs, life income gifts, and CRUTs funded with IRAs will be discussed! Whether you participated in previous similar sessions or not, this program will be valuable for those who solicit major gifts. Continuing the Circle: Successful Solicitation and Stewardship Collaboration

Past giving is the best indicator for future giving with donors. Retaining and upgrading these critical supporters over time requires a cycle of thoughtful stewardship and strategic solicitation. In this joint session with the Annual Giving and Stewardship Communities of Practice, we will discuss effective stewardship campaigns from partners on Grounds as well as the University of Georgia. The goal will be to identify new and best practices to help our donors feel engaged, informed and excited to continue their philanthropic support.
