Hardware, including Smartphones

Hardware

Our office has a support contract with UVA Health IT (HIT). We provide PC laptops purchased through HIT that have HIT approved applications on them. You can reach out to HIT for help with hardware and software issues, but if HIT concludes that the problem can only be resolved with a laptop reimage, Lori should be contacted. Lori will give you a loaner laptop while she reimages your current laptop.

Our office supplies wired or wireless keyboard and mouse sets for all users. Monitors, port replicators, external cameras, and iPads are not supplied. Please check UVA's Reuse Store website for available monitors and other office equipment that can be purchased at very reasonable prices.

If you have other hardware requests, please reach out to Lori or Tyler.

Smartphones

University Advancement (UA) handles the maintenance and ordering of iPhones for approved users in our office. If you have issues with your UA issued iPhone (other than HS email) or need to order a new one, please submit a help ticket via the Advancement Hub. UA may direct you to Lori or HIT if they believe the issue has been caused by HIT installed software.

If you need help setting up or have problems with HS email on your iPhone (UA issued or personal), please contact Lori or HIT (434.924.5334) for assistance. If you contact HIT, let them know that this is a UA/personal iPhone and not an HIT one.

UA doesn't support Androids and HIT is moving away from supporting them due to the numerous brands/models available and because Android security updates are controlled by cellular carriers. HIT recommends Apple devices for work purposes and full support.
