UVA Health Development

Improving Human Health

UVA Health Development builds relationships to inspire philanthropy that promotes exceptional patient care, prepares future healthcare leaders, and accelerates scientific discovery to improve human health.

The office is organized into teams of front-line fundraisers and staff who focus on medical alumni, nursing alumni, cancer programs, UVA Health Children’s, neurosciences, and healthcare philanthropy. They also have dedicated communicators and advancement services teams to support fundraising efforts. Visit the UVA Health Development giving website.

Fundraising Programs

The Cancer Programs team works closely with UVA Cancer Center leadership, physicians, volunteer groups, and grateful patients and their families to advance lifesaving cancer research, care, and outreach throughout the Commonwealth.

The Children’s team solicits support from grateful patients and their families, local businesses, volunteer groups, community members, and grateful patients and their families to ensure every child who turns to UVA for help receives exceptional, family-centered, state-of-the-art care.

Development team members work in partnership with UVA Health leadership, doctors, and nurses to facilitate grateful patient giving. Patients and their families often wish to express gratitude for the care they received in tangible ways. The act of giving back is healing and provides a sense of being in control again, as patients help ensure that the excellent care they received is available for the next patient.

Our medical alumni development team works in partnership with the University’s Medical Alumni Association and Medical School Foundation to solicit gifts from School of Medicine alumni, parents, and physicians at UVA Health. These dedicated constituent groups help enrich the student experience and support groundbreaking research across the School of Medicine.

Our School of Nursing Alumni and Development team works with alumni, parents, and faculty to raise awareness and support for nursing educational initiatives and clinical research that improve care for all.
