The Introduction to Advancement at UVA program is designed to integrate you into the UVA culture and to connect you with people, tools and resources. After participating in the program you will be able to: Explain how Advancement work is organized and structured at UVA Identify the key job roles/functions that make up Advancement work and the critical contribution of each to the overall fundraising effort Explain the role of collaboration and teamwork in successful fundraising efforts at UVA Summarize the importance of long-term relationships to the success of Advancement work at UVA and the role each of us plays in stewarding those relationships Locate the resources available to support your effectiveness and performance and the policies and protocols that guide our work Expand your network of colleagues across Grounds
DEI Community of Practice Meeting

Opening the Conversation on Your Team DEI work begins at home, in our own shops around Grounds. Join us for a presentation and open forum with Emma English, Assistant Director of UVA Clubs & Global Engagement. Emma will share the work of the Office of Engagement’s DEIB committee, including their recent team retreat activity and creation of the Points to Ponder e-newsletter, to inspire you and provide examples of ways to open conversation on your own team. After, brainstorm ideas with colleagues from across Grounds, and walk away from this session with actionable steps to create space for inclusivity and dialogue.

Calling all Advance Web and Advance Performance Cognos users! Whether you’re new to your role or looking to learn how to utilize Advance and AP Cognos to best support your team, come join us for a hands-on overview of Advance! In this session we’ll cover some database best practices and topics to enable you to get the most out of Advance. Please bring your laptop to fully engage with this learning lab experience. Session Topics include: Navigating in Advance, Creating and saving lists, Tips for mass adding to Advance, Mail prep reports, Running reports in AP Cognos, and Where to find support
